1. NEW POSITIVE WORDS SITE !!!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Yes, we've moved to a new hosting company, and have the
whole site up and running with a new look too! If you
notice anything not working or images not displaying,
please help us by emailing us! Thanks. And especial
thanks to Pam and Lance at christianwebhost.com, who have
helped beyond the call of duty so that we could get our
site transferred and running.
We have rearranged the site into a more logical order so
that it will stand further growth, though all this should
be unseen to you. We took the opportunity to count the
articles or chapters of books that are currently in our
library, and thought you would like to see the depth of
teachers who are featured:
Peter Wade (61 articles or chapters)
Warren Litzman (26, plus 11 from other authors of
Christ-life Publishing)
E.W. Bullinger (18)
A.J. Gordon (10)
S.D. Gordon (18)
E.W. Kenyon (14)
F.E. Marsh (15)
A.T. Pierson (9)
Others (27, including Norman Grubb, Hudson Taylor,
Hannah Whitall Smith, F.B. Meyer, A.B. Simpson)
Humor (5 pages)
So there is now a total of 215 articles or chapters of
books on the site, plus 5 audio teachings. Many of the
articles are from great teachers of past eras, who have
left us a rich legacy that deserves to be shared with new
generations of believers.

NEW ARTICLES
We have three outstanding articles for you this month.
The first, by Hannah Whitall Smith, will bless you,
encourage you, stir you. It's one of the best we've
published! "God is enough" is the title, and the article
is from her book "The God of All Comfort". Read this one
soon, and then read it again!
"My soul wait thou only upon God, for my expectation
is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation; he is
my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation,
and my glory: the rock of my strength and my refuge is in
God."
The last and greatest lesson that the soul has to
learn is the fact that God, and God alone, is enough for
all its needs. This is the lesson that all His dealings
with us are meant to teach; and this is the crowning
discovery of our whole Christian life. God is enough!
Then we have an outstanding article from the teacher of
teachers, E.W. Kenyon. "The Four Gospels In Contrast With
The Pauline Epistles" examines the fact that the Gospels
make no mention of Paul's revelation. Luke and Mark
travelled with Paul, John had met him, outlived him and
wrote his gospel after Paul died, and Paul's letters had
circulated widely during the gospel writers' lifetimes,
yet Paul's teaching had no influence over the gospel
record. Find out why in this outstanding article.

Finally, that giant of preachers from Boston, Dr. A.J.
Gordon, shares his 1872 thoughts on Philippians 1:9, "And
this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more
in knowledge and in all judgment."
There is something very striking and unexpected in
the climax of this prayer. That the love of Christians
should abound is a frequent exhortation and petition of
the apostle. But we should expect the direction of that
love to be differently defined. "In fervour and in all
charity, in zeal and in all self-sacrifice," would
perhaps be the terms which we should have chosen to
indicate its course. But instead of this the direction is
upward from the heart to the head, -- "that your love may
abound in all knowledge and in all judgment," or
discrimination, as the word means more exactly. This is
the course in which the affections must flow, in order
that they may deepen and widen and strengthen. And a
little reflection will doubtless show us that it is
necessarily so; that love can abound most fully only
through knowledge. Continued at...

2. SONGS I REMEMBER
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
A simple yet great hymn this month from the 19th
century, written by Major Daniel Whittle (1840-1901).
After service in the Illinois Infantry during the
American Civil War, he became treasurer of the Elgin
Watch Company in Chicago. Coming under the influence of
evangelist D.L. Moody, he resigned his position in 1873
and himself became a successful evangelist, teaming up
with James McGranahan as his musician. Together they
wrote many songs, such as "There Shall Be Showers of
Blessing" and others. Here is "Christ liveth in me",
first published in 1891.
Once far from God and dead in sin,
No light my heart could see;
But in God's Word the light I found,
Now Christ liveth in me.
Christ liveth in me,
Christ liveth in me;
Oh! what a salvation this,
That Christ liveth in me.
As rays of light from yonder sun,
The flowers of earth set free,
So life and light and love came forth
From Christ living in me.
As lives the flower within the seed,
As in the cone the tree,
So, praise the God of truth of grace,
His Spirit dwelleth in me.
With longing all my heart is filled,
That like Him I may be,
As on the wonderous thought I dwell
That Christ dwelleth in me.

3. A POSITIVE WORD FOR TODAY (Peter Wade)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
WALK IN COMPLETENESS, CONTENTMENT AND CONFIDENCE
"If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the
Spirit" (Galatians 5:25).
This verse means that since we live by the New Creation
placed within, let us keep in step with the outworking of
that which is within. It is a matter of environment.
Think of Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the
moon. He had to take his environment along with him into
a hostile world; he took his air-conditioning with him;
he took his guidance system with him. The control center
at Houston told him which rock to pick up, in which
direction to walk, and when to eat. Neil Armstrong did
not need to worry about the next move--it was enough to
know that everything had been carefully planned, and when
he needed to know what to do next the instructions were
there on time!
What a great illustration of the Christian believer,
living in the hostile environment of this world, and yet
by means of the New Creation within, living in God's
perfect spiritual world. The walk with the Spirit is a
walk of contentment.
"He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for
us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously
give us all things?" (Romans 8:32). There is no limit to
the last "all" in this verse, and modern translations
agree that "all" still means "all"--one of those simple
words that God uses which is pregnant with meaning. How
many things did He give us? All things. (From "You Are A
New Creation", Chapter 1, adapted by Hildy Matthews.)
AFFIRMATION: With the New Creation within me, living in
God's perfect spiritual world, I can walk in
completeness, contentment and confidence.

4. SEARCHLIGHTS FROM THE WORD
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
G. Campbell Morgan was a well-known preacher and writer
of over 60 books from the first half of the 20th century.
In this spot each issue we reproduce a comment from one
verse in every chapter of the Bible. We continue with
Paul's letter to the Galatians.
"For the whole law is fulfilled in one word..."
(Galatians 5:14).
The Law is the revelation of God's way of life for men.
In it are many words. Its statutes and judgments and
commandments are multiplied. They deal with every phase
of human life -- personal, social, religious. They
condition all its attitudes and activities -- of food, of
raiment, of dwelling-places, of health, of sanitation.
They cover all its relationships -- political, economic
family. They arrange its worship, make its calendar,
define its responsibilities. In short, there is nothing
in the whole course of life, from cradle to coffin, that
is not dealt with in some of its many words. Behind all
these words there are ten -- the words of the Decalogue,
gathering up within themselves the whole of the others,
in broad and general statements, so perfectly that if men
will live according to their revelation, personally and
socially, they will live in the ideal kingdom.
All this Paul knew none better than he. And yet he
declared that "the whole law is fulfilled in one word."
There is one word which includes the ten, as the ten
include the many. And that word is LOVE!
In saying this, Paul was only saying what his Lord
had said before him. The only difference is that here he
took for granted the first activity of love, which is
Godward, and named only the resultant one which is
manward. Who will challenge the truth of this saying? It
is impossible that any man who obeys only the law of love
in his thought and speech and deed should break either of
the ten words, or come short in obedience to the many.

5. BIBLE STUDY OUTLINES
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
These Bible Study outlines come from the excellent book
by F.E. Marsh, "1,000 Bible Study Outlines".
ANGEL' S RESURRECTION MESSAGE
Matthew 28:1-10;18-20
THE angel' s message is full of the grace and glow of
the Gospel. Weigh his sevenfold message:
1. The "Fear not" (5) of Love. The earthquake caused
the keepers to shake and quake; we are therefore not
surprised that the lightning countenance of the angel
should fill the women with consternation.
2. The "I know" of Appreciation. The angel knew the
loving quest of the women. He knew they wanted to see the
loved form that they had last seen on the cruel Cross.
Faith's memory always centres in the Cross.
3. The "He is not here" of Reminder. He had said He
would not remain in the grave. We do not always find what
we expect, but we discover the unexpected to our joy and
comfort.
4. The "He is risen" of Joy. He travelled through the
realm of Hades, and preached the Gospel to the spirits in
prison -- 1 Peter 3:18;4:6; and now He is risen
triumphant over death, Hell, the grave, and the Devil --
Hebrews 2:14; Revelation 1:18.
5. The " See the place " of Observation. The place of
expiation was Calvary--Luke 23:33; the place of glory
will be in the Father's mansions--John 14:2,3; and the
place of resurrection was an empty tomb.
6. The "Go quickly" of Commission. To go and "tell"
others that "He was risen from the dead" when they
expected still to find Him lifeless, gave wings to their
feet and a glow in their hearts.
7. The "Ye shall see Him" of Expectation. To hear He
was risen was good, but to have the assurance of seeing
Him was better.
ANXIETY AND COMMITTAL
"Be not anxious" Matthew 6:25, R.V.
"In nothing be anxious" (Philippians 4:6. R.V.). Some
obey this command in certain circumstances only, while
others reverse the reading, and live as though they were
to be anxious for everything. The Lord wishes His
children to carry their worries and anxieties to Him; and
to leave them with Him. Here are seven things which He
bids us cast upon Him, or commit unto Him.
1. Commit Yourself unto Him. "He is able to keep that
which I have committed unto Him against that day" (II
Timothy 1:12). Paul deposited himself in the hands of the
Heavenly Banker; and, as the money in the Bank of England
is kept safe in the strong-rooms within and by the guard
without, so was the apostle, for he was kept by the Holy
Spirit within, and by the Lord who encamped round about
him.
2. Commit Your Soul unto Him. "Wherefore let them that
suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of
their souls to Him in well-doing, as unto a faithful
Creator" (I Peter 4:19). Suffering we shall have, but if
we commit the kecping of our souls unto the Lord in well-
doing, as the three Hebrew young men did, we shall, like
them, cut loose our bonds, and gain the company of Jesus.
3. Commit Your Spirit unto Him. "Into Thine hand I
commit my spirit" (Psalm 31:5). If the Lord has the
control of our spirit, He will control us altogether.
4. Commit Your Way unto Him. "Commit thy way unto the
Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass"
(Psalm 37:5). If we commit our way unto Him, we shall
never stray from Him.
5. Commit Your Works unto Him. "Commit thy works unto
the Lord" (Proverbs 16:3). If the Lord controls the works
and the workers, there will be no clashing in the
working.
6. Commit Your Burden unto Him. "Cast thy burden upon
the Lord" (Psalm 55:22). If the Lord is our Burden-
bearer, we shall be free to bear one another's burdens.
7. Commit Your Care unto Him. "Casting all your care
upon Him, for He careth for you" (I Peter 5:7). One, John
Careless, a martyr, in writing to a friend, said: "Now my
soul is turned to her old rest again and has taken a
sweet nap in Christ's lap. I have cast my care upon the
Lord, who careth for me, and will be careless, according
to my name." If we cast all our cares upon Him, He will
take all care of us.
APPRECIATION
Sometimes we lack in appreciating each other as
believers in Christ. We need to follow Paul's example,
and record what we see in others.
1. Of the Nameless Brother, he said his praises were
in all the churches--II Corinthians 8:18.
2. Of Epaphras, he said, "He laboured fervently in
prayer" (Colossians 4:12).
3. Of Epaphroditus, he said, "He ministered to my
wants" (Philippians 2:25).
4. Of Onesimus, the slave, he said, He is "a faithful
and beloved brother " (Colossians 4:9).
5. Of the Women in Philippi, he said, "They laboured
with me" (Philippians 4:3).
6. Of the Thessalonian Saints he said, "From you
sounded out the Word of the Lord" (I Thessalonians 1:8).
7. Of Onesiphorus, he said, "He oft refreshed me, and
was not ashamed of my chain" (II Timothy 1:16).
"ARM OF THE LORD" (Isaiah 53:1)
1. Redeeming Arm to Deliver--Exodus 6:6.
2. Great Arm to Achieve--Exodus 15:16; Psalm 98:1.
3. Persistent Arm to Accomplish--Deuteronomy 4:34.
4. Promising Arm to Overthrow--Deuteronomy 7:18,19.
5. Powerful Arm to Overawe--Deuteronomy 26:8.
6. Strong Arm to Scatter--Psalm 89:10,13.
7. Strengthening Arm to Empower--Psalm 89:21.
A SEVENFOLD EXHORTATION (Hebrews 12)
1. Stripped Bodies. "Lay aside every weight," etc.
(v.1). The simile used is the putting off of a garment,
as the athlete who lays aside every encumbrance before he
runs in the race.
2. Looking Eyes. "Looking unto Jesus" (v.2). The
figure indicates the looking away from one object to
another. Christ is the Leader and Completer of faith. We
have a Perfect Example of faith to follow, and a Perfect
Indweller to impart the faith He requires.
3. Lifting Hands. "Lift up the hands," etc. (v.12). A
loving heart to Christ in remembering how He lifted us up
from sin to Himself, will prompt us to have hands for
Christ in helping others in need.
4. Straight Paths. "Make straight paths," etc. (v.13).
The best way to restore others is to be perfectly sure we
are right with God ourselves. We need to be straight
ourselves if we would straighten others.
5. Pursuing Feet. "Follow peace," etc. (v.14). Peace
is the terminus which is reached by travelling in the way
of holiness.
6. Alert Attention. "Looking diligently," etc. (v.l0).
Not to take in supplies is to be devoid of provender. To
fail the grace of God is to fail to take God in His
grace, who never fails.
7. Good Service. "Serve God acceptably," etc. (v.28).
To be well-pleasing to God is the highest form of
service. Acceptable service has love for its motive,
truth for its guide, the Spirit for its power, and God's
glory for its end.
"AT ALL TIMES"
1. Trust. "Trust in Him at all times" (Psalm 62:8).
2. Praise. "I will bless the Lord at all times" (Psalm
34:1).
3. Love. "A friend loveth at all times" (Proverbs
17:17).
4. Righteousness. "Blessed... is he that doeth
righteousness at all times" (Psalm 106:3).
5. Desire. "My soul breaketh for the longing that it
hath unto Thy judgments at all times" (Psalm 119:20).
6. Faithfulness. "It is good to be zealously affccted
at all times" (Galatians 4:18 RV).
7. Concern. "That he maintain the cause... of His
people at all times" (I Kings 8:59). "The Lord... give
you peace at all times" (II Thessalonians 3:16 RV).
